Salt Import Investigation

The Attorney General’s Office named three officials of the industry ministry as suspects over corruption in salt imports. The case has not yet implicated other ministries.
EMPLOYEES at the ministry of industry’s directorate-general of pharmaceutical chemicals and textiles were busier than usual at the end of last June. They were gathering their files related to the salt needed for industrial use. These documents were then turned over to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) that has been investigating a salt import corruption case.
