Pegasus, the spying tool from Israeli company NSO Group, has been used in Indonesia since 2018. The National Police and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) allegedly used it.

PEGASUS returned to the spotlight in February. A collaboration between global investigative journalists, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, and Forbidden Stories has revealed a misuse of the spyware to eavesdrop on activists, journalists, and politicians worldwide. The Pegasus, a software made by Israeli cyber-intelligence company NSO Group Technologies, is mentioned in the report.
