UNDER the turtle-shell shaped roof of the House of Representatives (DPR) building, Ace Hasan Syadzily was carrying a brown paper with the words “Suharto Out.” It was May 18, 1998. Ace was Chairman of the Student Senate of the Faculty of Literatures at the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic Institute (IAIN) in Jakarta.
