PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) and the Ministry of Investment (BKPM) work together to support the implementation of business licensing services for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This collaboration was strengthened by the signing by the President Director of PNM, Arief Mulyadi and the Deputy for Investment Cooperation at the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Riyanto, on Monday, 18 July 2022.

Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia, said this collaboration was important to encourage MSMEs upgrade their class by having business legality, namely the Business Identification Number (NIB). According to him, once the MSMEs are doing well, they need to take advantage of People's Business Credit (KUR).

Bahlil asked for PNM cooperation to encourage MSME actors to legalize their business so that they can take advantage of banking access that has been prepared by the government. That way, they can expand their business more broadly. “This is our responsibility. Trust me, we take care of the little things that touch," said Bahlil.

PNM President Director, Arief Mulyadi, said the PNM collaboration with BKPM was aimed at enabling 12 million PNM Mekaar customers to have a Business Identification Number (NIB). "We encourage customer mothers to increase their knowledge about the importance of having an NIB."

That way, he continued, the legality of their business is guaranteed so that it can increase financing facilities from banks and the opportunity to get training. "If business actors have an NIB, they can also have the opportunity to participate in government procurement of goods or services, so that they can increase the welfare of their families and upgrade the class of PNM customers," said Arief.

Nowadays, the process of getting an NIB is easier. Individuals or micro and small companies register to obtain NIB. They only have to enter the NIK listed on the electronic ID card and the cellphone number that is connected to the WhatsApp application.

PNM has disbursed financing of Rp 132.79 trillion to 12 million PNM Mekaar customers as of July 18, 2022. PNM has 3,386 PNM Mekaar service offices and 688 PNM ULaMM service offices throughout Indonesia serving MSMEs in 34 provinces, 443 regencies/cities, and 5,640 subdistricts. (*)
