ON Tuesday morning, July 4, a man came to the office of Maqdir Ismail and Partners law firm at Jalan Latuharhary, Menteng, Central Jakarta. He came to see Maqdir and handed over US$1.8 million or around Rp27 billion in cash, packed in 18 plastic bags.
