THE August 2025 demonstrations that ended in riots appear to have left some retired military officers uneasy to this day. Retirees grouped under Pejuang Merah Putih (Red and White Fighters—PMP) have frequently discussed concerns that similar security disturbances could recur under the administration of Prabowo Subianto. PMP is a forum of retired generals who support Prabowo, whose members include Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.
