The European Commission submitted a proposal for new regulation. Commodities exiting and entering the European Union must be free from deforestation and forest degradation.
THE European Union Due Diligence Regulation (EUDDR) is a regulation from the European Parliament and European Council on the supply of products to the European Union market, and export from the European Union countries for certain commodities and products linked to deforestation and forest degradation. The proposal for the regulation was submitted by the European Commission to the European Parliament in November 2019, and remains under discussion
