The government must tighten up the carbon trading scheme to stop it turning into a bogus solution to the climate crisis.
THE presidential regulation on carbon economic value was finally issued at the end of last month, one day before President Joko Widodo left for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP26. In Glasgow, Scotland, the Indonesian delegation flaunted this carbon trading regulation as a market-based instrument to show the seriousness of Indonesia’s commitment to mitigating the climate crisis.
