The Rector of Lampung University took Rp5 billion in bribes from prospective students. This is a consequence of poor oversight from the ministry of education.
THE arrest of Lampung University Rector, Karomani, for taking bribes from prospective new students further underlines the ramshackle nature of our higher education system. A campus that should function as a place to educate the nation’s future leaders and become a center for the development of knowledge has turned into a dirty place full of corruption.
