TWO months before the current Indonesian Military (TNI) commander’s retirement, in early September, a WhatsApp group for the Indonesian Naval Academy class of 1989 went into an uproar. A member of a group shared online news about the distribution of the Qur’an by the Qur’an Charity Board at the TNI Primary Naval Base XIV in Sorong, West Papua, at the end of January. A similar report was posted on the Navy’s website, tnial.
