IN early January, Budi Waseso, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of state logistics agency Bulog, suddenly stopped the distribution of rice to the Cipinang Rice Central Market, East Jakarta. The former chief of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Department suspected unfair practices in the Food Supply and Price Stabilization program or market operations at the Indonesia’s largest rice market.
