FMD Outbreak Is Caused by State Negligence

PDHI Chief Muhammad Munawaroh says that the FMD outbreak results from the state’s lack of oversight over livestock traffic. The veterinarian association recommends the establishment of an animal health agency.

THE resurgence of foot and mouth disease (FMD) worries the Indonesian Veterinarian Association (PDHI) Chief Muhammad Munawaroh. He said he received a lot of complaints from livestock breeders who suffered losses due to the outbreak of the disease that Indonesia eradicated in the 90s.
